Angel in Black

She began to slow down

Her fear she did well to hide

Those around her did not know

What was killing her inside

The doctors were all perplexed

At her determination to go on

After a couple more months though

Her fortitude was nearly gone

God, won’t you send her an Angel?

One that can bring her to smile.

God, please strengthen her body

Let this love bring her more miles..

God, won’t you send her an Angel?

She is relying now only on You

The doctors have given their report

They say there’s nothing they can do

He didn’t shine so brightly

That she wanted to run and hide

Her angel she actually never met

But he never did leave her side

Even when she tried to run

He continued to lift up his prayers

When she came back in need

His open arms showed he cared

God, won’t you send her an Angel?

One that can bring her to smile.

God, please strengthen her body

Let this love bring her more miles..

God, won’t you send her an Angel?

She is relying now only on You

The doctors have given their report

They say there’s nothing they can do

A supernatural encounter

On the night she was ready to leave

His wings embraced her sorrow

And denied her soul  to those beneath

God, you’ve sent her an angel

One that brings her many smiles

With peace you strengthen her body

Her faith is bringing her miles

God, you sent the right angel

Without condemnation or an act

The doctor is no longer her focus

Only the love of her Angel in Black
